What began as a coffee shop chat, months ago, has finally turned into a community outreach called...
The Giving Tree!
It's our hope, that seeing the needs of our fellow neighbors, written upon each leaf of The Giving Tree, we (as individuals and groups) will be prompted to reach out and fill those needs.
These needs can be made known by the individual, or be submitted by others, at The Bridge Coffee Shop in Louisiana, MO. Requests may also be made via email at the Re(STORE)ing La MO website.
Needs could range from buying a pack of diapers for a single parent, to providing a new roof for a senior living on a fixed income. They may be as simple as praying for someone, or more action ready like taking someone to their doctor appointment.
We realize some requests will not be met immediately, but it's our hope to get the word out giving everyone the opportunity to serve their fellow neighbor. Larger requests may require groups, such as; churches, community groups and clubs, groups of friends.
If the request is a need estimated to cost over $150, or is a monetary request of over $150, we will ask that TWO witnesses (people who can vouch for the need) be added to the request form.
Sometimes, we just don't know what our fellow neighbor needs but we're willing to help. So...go to the The Bridge Coffee Shop, look at The Giving Tree and pick a leaf (needs are written on each leaf). Take the leaf to the barista and they will connect you to the recipient, starting the process of fulfilling their need. It's that simple!
